gender-aware education as a part of political education is based on the assumption that the category gender – besides other societal roles- still serves as a central structuring function in patriarchal society.
in practice, this means that people have different access to resources (space, money, education, work, security….) based on their ascribed gender and its respective socialisation.
gender-aware education in_between offers a frame for reflecting different forms of sexism and develops visibility and appreciation for the manifold and different forms in which gender and sexuality is being lived.
in this context, creative methods from gender education (critical girl* and boy* education), bodywork and sexual education are being applied.
